Stucco problems have more to do with installation than the stucco itself. Water penetrates into the space behind the stucco system and since stucco systems are designed to keep moisture out, the water remains trapped causing rot or deterioration. Only stucco professionals understand the importance of the many steps needed to properly seal areas from moisture intrusion. There may be no outward indicators of a problem. This is especially true in newer homes where moisture intrusion is less advanced.
But no matter how severe, most stucco installation problems can be fixed. As with any progressive problem, the sooner it is caught, diagnosed and fixed…the less expensive the repair will be.
Some stucco exteriors have seen problems. These problems have more to do with installation than the stucco itself. We are experts in identifying problems with stucco and its relationship to framing, caulking, window, door and deck flashing and substrate.
Stucco is very durable and generally requires very little maintenance. When cracks or breaks start to appear, they require thorough attention or extensive repairs may result. In any case, repairs are a simple way to bring the surface back to good condition. After repair is complete faded, cracked, or discolored stucco walls will take on new and vibrant life and help protect your property from reoccurring problems.
Stucco is a very versatile product in that it can be applied to many surfaces, including standard sheeting (plywood), old siding, concrete walls and foundations, among others.
Stucco is applied year round. When the temperature is below freezing, heating and enclosure of the project may be required.
